OMG — I’m actually doing this.
I still can’t believe it’s happening. I’ve always loved to write, and somewhere deep down, starting a blog — or at least committing to a writing practice — has always been a dream. A quiet longing to have a space where I could write long-form, share my views, express my creativity, and find a sense of release.
As an introvert, I’ve often found that the written word comes more naturally than the spoken one. Well, mostly. Of course, I wouldn’t want to generalize.
But here I am. And here you are — reading my very first blog post.
Welcome to my world of creativity, art, healing, and growth. I’m passionate, imaginative, and a bit of a daydreamer — a realistic one though. (Is that a thing? Or just a fancy oxymoron? Let’s go with it.)
Showing Up and Starting Anyway
Here’s the thing — as an anxious and often nervous person, I surprisingly didn’t over-research how to write “the perfect first blog post.” I didn’t look up the most SEO-friendly format or read up on click-worthy headlines. I just sat down and wrote.
I wanted to express what came naturally and let it flow.
And for the first time in a long while, I’m enjoying this freedom — where the joy lies in the process of creating, not the pressure of performing.
Earlier today (yes, mid-day bingeing has its perks), I was watching Marie Forleo talk with Seth Godin about his book The Practice. They spoke about what it truly means to be creative — and how important it is to show up, regardless of how we feel on any given day.
One idea really stayed with me:
“Love what you do” > “Do what you love.”
That flipped a switch. It reminded me that the discipline of creativity doesn’t depend on fleeting moods or inspiration. It’s about beginning the work and trusting that the magic will follow. Our purpose, our voice, and our mission are much bigger than the fears that try to shrink us.
What Does It Mean to Be Authentic?
Seth also spoke about authenticity — and it’s a question that’s been sitting with me ever since.
What does being authentic really mean?
Is it simply about showing up as yourself? Or is it about being true to your calling, your gut instincts — and acting on the pull to share what feels true in your bones?
As I step into this creative journey more intentionally, I’m beginning to see how often we hold ourselves back. How often we become the mountain in our own path.
That’s why I’ve been so moved by Brianna Wiest’s book The Mountain is You. Her work on self-sabotage reveals how much of our inner resistance comes from old stories — childhood wounds, subconscious beliefs, and inherited fears. Over time, those stories become our inner critic. The one that tells us we’re not ready, not good enough, or too much.
But we can change the story.
It takes awareness. And practice.
It takes us showing up, over and over, even when it feels scary.
This Blog is My Brave Step Forward
So here it is. My humble start. My imperfect, honest, brave first step.
This blog is a space for my Art, my thoughts, my questions, and the messy beauty of becoming.
It’s a space where I hope you’ll feel a little more seen, soothed, and inspired.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading these words.
Here’s to growth, grace, and finding our Light — one post at a time.
With love,
Sneha 🌿
